My life is in that computer!

You arrive home after a hard day of work to find smoke rolling out of your homes windows. Omg, your house is on fire. Luckily no one is hurt but a lot of your personal items are ruined including....your computer. Have you ever really thought about how much of "your life" is stored on your computer? A lifetime of digital photos that you never got around to printing, important documents and files that are stored no where else than on your hard drive. If you happen to run a business from home, think about all the information that would be lost if your computer was unusable.
You may have an external hard drive that you back your files up on to but that only works if your computer is on the fritz, not if your office gets burnt to a crisp or say, sucked up by a tornado ( I know, a little dramatic but this is for examples sake).
I have found a wonderful company called mozy.com that can save you from this catastrophic doom if you were to have the misfortune of losing your computer to mother nature. For only $4.95 a month all of my files are backed up to their databases which they have in 2 different geographic locations (you know, just in case one burns down). This includes every thing from my hard drive, application preferences, to even my iTunes library. You can set mozy to update nightly, weekly, what ever you would like, all for less than 5 bucks a month. Piece of mind is worth a lot more than that to me!

Social Networking

It's all you hear about these days; "social networking". Do you Twitter? How about Facebook? To many people this may sound like a bunch of mumbo jumbo and a little bit of a time waster.These social networking sites can be fun and helpful but to be truthful I'm sure we are taking it just a little to the extreme.
One social networking site in particular though has turned out to be quite interesting and that is StumbleUpon. The site consists of many different ways to "network" yourself but the most simple and useful tool that StumbleUpon offers is their tool bar. After you have signed up for an account you will select areas that you are interested in (music, cooking, art etc.) you then down load the stumble tool bar. This tool bar has a feature that in my opinion is great for finding new websites that you would have never found simply searching Google. This button is the Stumble button. Each time you press it a new website appears that has something to do with the areas of interest that you selected when signing up. If you like the site, you press "like it" and it is saved to your account. If not just press the Stumble button again and the next site will appear. I have found so many useful and interesting sights this week that I would have never "stumbled" upon on my own. So even if you are not into all this "socializing", give StumbleUpon a try and find some new websites that spark your interest.

New OOAK Boutique Website Template

I have just finished a new OOAK website template. With this template I went with a classic romantic theme. This template comes with 2 matching banners and a "buy now" button. Alice.com

So I found this new online service called Alice.com. The set up of the service is really great. They are basically like an online Walmart store except so much more. You can set up your account so that Alice will remind you when you are running low on certain household supplies. They also give you online coupons for items without you even having to ask. The prices are very similar to Walmarts and the greatest thing of all is......FREE SHIPPING! Yes you do have to order at least 6 items in order to purchase but most of us would have no problem with this. So it all seems a little too good to be true but so far so good. I am still not quite sure how Alice makes a profit but hey, I can't worry about that. All I know is the convenience of ordering all my household and pantry supplies online without ever having to leave the comfort of my own not so comfortable computer chair. You've seen them before. They are the people who are outgoing, smart, and cute! Everyone wants to know who they are! So here's how to be one of those people. Good luck!

Steps

1. Observe. Take notice of how you act and how others act.
   
2. Don't be obnoxious.
   
3. Listen. Instead of talking about how cool you are ask others questions. When you show interest in others they end up wanting to know more about you.
   
4. Be more interesting. Do things differently, mix your life up! If you always say hi to the same people talk to different ones.
   
5. Save it. If someone doesn't ask you something then keep it to yourself. Unless they've told you something about what you want to say.
   
6. Lay back and relax. Don't get all worked up over people. This really turns them off as to wanting to know you.
   
7. Be happy. People want to be around people that make them feel happy and make them forget about their worries.
   
8. Study hard and succeed. People naturally like smart people. Dumb people aren't going to get far in life and you want to get far.
   
9. Take certain things seriously. First of all when it comes to school or being on top of things don't joke and make a fool out of yourself. Casually make jokes and act less stressed out but don't, I repeat, don't slack off. You can be serious and still have fun.
   
10. Take the clues. First, know who you can joke around with and who not. Next, don't make jokes about things that bother them or that they are serious about, respect them.
    
11. Be yourself. A whole lot of people say this and it is completely true. People are attracted to people who have confidence in who they are and aren't so weak that they have to bend who they are for others.
    
12. Be beautiful. Beautiful is not being gorgeous, but being comfortable with who you are and owning it, minus the ego. Love yourself and others!

• HAVE CONFIDENCE IN YOURSELF. Look yourself in the mirror and tell your self, "I love who I am. I'm not stuck up and look like everyone else. I'm me. I'm not the most gorgeous, but with my personality I'm drop dead beautiful. I know who I am and I'm going to walk up to people and let them get to know who I am!
  
• Be cool with what others think. Don't constantly change your beliefs to fit in, but do what it takes to jive with who you are around.
  
• DON'T flip-flop on attitudes and stuff just to gain favor with people. This irritates most people.
  
• Dress and act maturely, more gentlemanly for guys and lady-like (for lack of better terms) for girls
  
• Be willing to compromise and admit fault; this goes without saying

• Avoid people who don't cherish the same morals as you do.
  
• Hang out with a crowd of people who are good, trustworthy, happy, sunshiny people just like you!
  
• Don't turn down offers from people. Like when someone who isn't popular pipes up the courage to ask you to the dance.
